The ScriptFarm Code of Ethics

You would think an organization like ours would have a mission statement or a summary of our business approach and overall philosophy. That works well for marketing professionals, but we’re engineers. As such we’re governed by a set of principles that guides our relationship with our clients: We have a CODE:

We, the members of the ScriptFarm, in recognition of the risk mitigation goals of performance testing for our clients, and in accepting a personal obligation to our profession, its members and the communities we serve, do hereby commit ourselves to the highest standards of technical excellence and professional conduct and agree:

  • to maintain fierce loyalty to our clients, their technical needs, their project needs and their confidentiality requirements;
  • to not violate the terms of our clients’ software agreements with their vendors through inappropriate use of software. Performance testing is all about the mitigation of risk and such activities run counter to the philosophy of our company;
  • to respect the intellectual property laws of the countries in which we operate;
  • to accept responsibility in making decisions associated with the delivery of a project, and to disclose promptly factors that might endanger the timeline or the budget;
  • to avoid real or perceived conflicts of interest whenever possible, and to disclose them to affected parties when they do exist;
  • to be honest and realistic in stating claims or estimates based on available data;
  • to reject bribery in all its forms;
  • to improve the understanding of load and performance testing technology & techniques, their appropriate application, and potential consequences;
  • to maintain and improve our technical competence and to undertake technological tasks for others only if qualified by training or experience, or after full disclosure of pertinent limitations;
  • to seek, accept, and offer honest criticism of technical work, to acknowledge and correct errors, and to credit properly the contributions of others;
  • to treat fairly all persons regardless of such factors as race, religion, gender, disability, age, or national origin;
  • to avoid injuring others, their property, reputation, or employment by false or malicious action;
  • to assist colleagues and co-workers in their professional development and to support them in following this code of ethics.
